TEXT: 2 Corinthians 6:3-18
- Remember the book The Purpose Driven Life by Pastor Rick Warren? Thirty million copies were sold by 2007! Why was the book so popular? Do you believe that God has given each Christ-follower a specific purpose? Or does He allow us to choose as long as it’s within His moral will?
- Building relationships within our Oikos is essential to our missional life purpose. How do we discern how much time to invest and whom to invest it in? How does the Holy Spirit help us with being intentional in sharing the Gospel with those in our Oikos who are unchurched or unsaved?
- Matthew 11:29, 30 is counter-cultural and a gentle reminder to many of us who delight in our own efforts in the work of the Gospel, and then readily tell many how tired we are with so much to do. The world needs to see Christ followers who are energized, relaxed, and confident in Faith. How does this passage impact your model of Christ-likeness? What things in your life need to change so that you can rest in God’s Grace and power?
- Are the lessons of this passage personal only? Or should they be applied to our business dealings with others as well? How could a “wrong” business relationship hinder our Gospel purpose?
