This week we’ll begin looking at the first sentence of Article 5 of the EFCA’s statement of faith.  It reads – “We believe that Jesus Christ, as our representative and substitute, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins.”

We are glad you are joining us as we look at His all-sufficient sacrifice on our behalf.

Texts:

  • 2 Cor 5:21
  • 1 Peter 2:22
  • 1 John 3:5
  • Hebrews 7:26
  • John 1:29
  • Hebrews 2:17

Because of His perfection, His sinlessness, Jesus was uniquely able to be our All-sufficient sacrifice.

  • Hebrews 9:22
  • Hebrews 9:56-26
  • Hebrews 9:28
  • Hebrews 10:10
  • Hebrews 10:14
  • Philippians 2:5-8

His sacrifice was all-sufficient not only because He was sinless, but because He humbly became sin for us!

  • Colossians 1:12–14
  • Colossians 3:3-4

Christ’s all-sufficient sacrifice enabled our union with Him, not only because it removed sin, but through it we were given His righteousness.

  • John 10:10
  • 2 peter 1:3-4

Series Information

What are the essentials of faith that we must hold to with committed unity? This series "We Believe" identifies the essentials that we stand on as a church. This will be a rich series that will provide clarity on where to stand resolutely and where we can with charity agree to disagree on matters that are biblically arguable.
