This passage includes two accounts where Jesus and his disciples are accused of violating the Sabbath. In both cases Jesus rebukes the Pharisees and teachers of the Law, and he corrects their wrong understanding of the Law of God.  In doing so he also comes to the defense of his disciples and the man with the withered hand.  Jesus is our defender and he is the one who gives proper understand of the Law. We’ll look at three things Jesus teaches about the Law to instruct our understanding and, most importantly, to see God’s heart in His Law.
