- What should we say to our Oikos when they ask where our “good God” was in the midst of a tragic school shooting that took the lives of many children?
- At one point in the movie, The Patriot, Benjamin Martin passionately exclaims, “I have long feared that my sins would return to haunt me, and the cost would be more than I could bear.” Were the tragic war events Martin’s family experienced, God’s wrath on him and his family for his earlier “sins”? How would you have responded to his statement?
- Have a conversation about John 3:17 and how it applies to Christ-followers’ response to tragedy and/or immorality in our culture.
- How do we, as followers of Christ, live self-reflective and humble lives that are truly repentant? What does it really mean to let our little lights shine?
