Baptism Testimony

SIMON GREEN

September 20, 2026

Hello, my name is Isaac Green. I was born into a Christian household, and I had been taught about Christianity ever since I was a little boy. When I was little, I used to get the Bible read to me every night by my mother.

One night I met Christ, and that night was the best night of my life. I was with my mom, and she was reading the Bible to me I had so many questions which we stayed up late discussing. The question we spent the most time on was, “how do we go to heaven?” to which my mom replied: we have to spread the word with others, and we must accept Jesus into our heart. That night was the night that I accepted Jesus into my heart because I wanted to go to heaven and to learn more about God so I could tell others about my savior. It was before I went to bed, I prayed that I needed a savior and that I knew I was a sinner and asked for forgiveness, because I couldn’t walk this life alone.

My life after that was amazing, I was doing well in school, and I was trying to act like Jesus as much as I could. I would also always pay more attention in church and ask lots of questions about the Bible. I would also be more respectful to my parents and other important people in my life. But then I felt that all start to slip away when I was around the age of 12. I would become more disrespectful, and I wouldn’t tell anybody about Christ or anything that I would normally do before. I knew I had to do something about it so I would pray and apologize for it but then later I would do the same sin I just apologized for. But then about a year later I went to church and after church I decided I couldn’t keep living like this. The reason I wanted to change was because I felt like I was going the opposite way from him, and I wanted to go back towards him so I could be closer to him. When I decided this was after a church service when Tom Daly was speaking and it hit me that I was going the completely opposite way of him and that I should change. That day Tom was talking about how no matter how many steps we take away from him it’s only a few big steps back to him. This means no matter how many times you sin he will always forgive you and you must stop and walk back to him. At the end before he started praying, he said to us that if we are feeling distant or like you’re a neutral Christian to ask for forgiveness and turn back and take those big steps towards him. I did what he said, and my life has been so much better since that day, and I have felt a lot closer to him lately and school has also been going a lot better and it has shown me to be more respectful to the people I love. Accepting him has also led me to reading the Bible and praying a lot more than I was. That is what led me to today where I am taking the next step in my faith by publicly professing my faith in Jesus Christ through baptism.
